Singing River Health System Data Breach

On December 18, 2023, Singing River Health System and its wholly owned subsidiary, Singing River Gulfport (“Singing River”) detected suspicious activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a subsequent forensic investigation, Singing River determined that cybercriminals infiltrated the inadequately secured computer systems and thereby had undetected and virtually unfettered access to its sensitive files between August 16, 2023 and August 18, 2023. The investigation further determined that, through this infiltration, cybercriminals gained access to files containing the sensitive personal information of 252,890 individuals.
