P.E.O. Sisterhood Data Breach

On or around April 14, 2023, International Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood (“P.E.O. Sisterhood”) became aware of unauthorized access to its systems, indicating a data breach and ransomware attack. Based on a third-party forensic investigation, P.E.O. Sisterhood confirmed that unauthorized cybercriminals infiltrated its inadequately secured network and gained access to its systems. P.E.O. Sisterhood determined that the systems accessed by cybercriminals contained the personal data of 294,200 individuals.

The personal information stolen in the data breach includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
