Morrison Community Hospital Data Breach

On September 24, 2023, Morrison Community Hospital detected unusual activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Morrison Community Hospital confirmed that cybercriminals infiltrated its inadequately secured computer systems and gained access to the sensitive personal information of 122,488 individuals. The AlphV/Black Cat ransomware group has taken responsibility for the breach and has added stolen patient information to the dark web. The AlphV gang has also threatened to make calls to patients whose information they stole.
