IBW Financial Corporation Data Breach

On September 30, 2021, IBW Financial Corporation (“IBW”) became aware that an employee’s computer has been accessed by an unauthorized cybercriminal. Based on a forensic investigation, IBW confirmed that one or more cybercriminals had opened certain IBW files containing sensitive information. The investigation determined that the files accessed by cybercriminals contained the personal information of 92,629 individuals.

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Financial account information

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
