On June 3, 2023, Honeywell International, Inc. (“Honeywell”) was alerted that cybercriminals had gained unauthorized access to certain files. The infiltration and unauthorized access occurred through the use of the MOVEit transfer tool used by Honeywell.
Did You Receive a Data Breach Letter From Honeywell?
Through a subsequent investigation, Honeywell determined that the cybercriminals accessed the sensitive personal information of approximately 118,379 individuals, including:
- Social Security numbers
As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
