On or around March 17, 2025, Home Telecom were advised that a third-party vendor’s network, containing Home Telecom’s data, had experienced a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Home Telecom determined that cybercriminals successfully infiltrated the inadequately secured computer environment and accessed certain Home Telecom data files. The investigation further determined that, through this infiltration, cybercriminals accessed files containing the sensitive personal information of tens of thousands of individuals.
The information exposed in the data breach includes, but is not limited to:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Addresses
As a result of the Home Telecom data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
