On December 15, 2022, Highmark, Inc. (“Highmark”) became aware of an unauthorized intrusion on its company email account. Based on a forensic investigation, Highmark confirmed that between December 13, 2022 and December 15, 2022, cybercriminals gained unauthorized access to confidential emails containing sensitive personal information of at least 300,000 individuals.

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
