Great Valley Cardiology Data Breach

On April 13, 2023, Great Valley Cardiology, also known as Commonwealth Health Physician Network-Cardiology (“Great Valley Cardiology”), detected suspicious activity on its network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Great Valley Cardiology confirmed that unauthorized cybercriminals gained access to its computer system between February 2, 2023 and April 14, 2023. Great Valley Cardiology further confirmed that the cybercriminals accessed systems and files containing the stored personal information of at least 181,764 individuals.

  • Addresses
  • Social Security numbers
  • Bank account information
  • Payment card information
  • Medical treatment information
  • Dates of birth
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Health insurance information
  • Passport numbers

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
