City of Hope Data Breach

On or about October 13, 2023, City of Hope detected suspicious activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Subsequently, City of Hope conducted a forensic investigation. Through this investigation, City of Hope determined that cybercriminals had successfully infiltrated City of Hope’s inadequately secured computer network and, thereby, “obtained copies of some files between September 19, 2023 and October 12, 2023.” City of Hope further confirmed that the files accessed and obtained by cybercriminals includes the sensitive patient data of at least 827,149 individuals.
