Carvin Software Data Breach

On March 9, 2023, Carvin Software, LLC (“Carvin Software”) detected unusual activity on its internal network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Carvin Software determined confirmed that cybercriminals gained access to its systems and copied certain files from its network without authorization between February 22, 2023, and March 9, 2023. Following further review, Carvin Software confirmed that the copied files contained the sensitive personal information of at least 187,360 individuals.

The personal information copied by unauthorized cybercriminals in the data breach includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Financial account information

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
