1st Source Bank Data Breach

On June 1, 2023, 1st Source Bank was alerted that cybercriminals had gained unauthorized access to certain files. The infiltration and unauthorized access occurred through the use of the MOVEit transfer tool used by 1st Source Bank. Through a subsequent investigation, 1st Source Bank determined that the data accessed and potentially acquired by cybercriminals included the sensitive personal information of approximately 450,000 individuals.

The exposed data includes:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Dates of birth

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
