Earlier this year, Snap Finance LLC and Snap RTO LLC (“Snap”) became aware of a data security incident that impacted its network, indicating a likely data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Snap confirmed that cybercriminals had infiltrated its systems and were active on its network between June 23, 2022 and September 8, 2022. During this time, cybercriminals had unauthorized and relatively unfettered access to certain sensitive information, including the personal information of 61,302 individuals.

The personal information exposed to cybercriminals during the data breach includes:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license numbers
- Financial account numbers
As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
