Regional Family Medicine Data Breach

On June 26, 2023, Regional Family Medical (“Regional Family”) detected unusual activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Regional Family confirmed that cybercriminals infiltrated its inadequately secured computer systems and gained access to, and potentially acquired, files containing the sensitive personal information of 80,166 individuals.

  • Dates of birth
  • Medical information
  • Account information
  • Biometric data
  • Health insurance information

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
