Otolaryngology Associates Data Breach

On or about February 17, 2024, Otolaryngology Associates, LLC (“Otolaryngology Associates”) detected suspicious activity on its computer network, indicating a data breach. Subsequently, Otolaryngology Associates conducted a forensic investigation. Through this investigation, Otolaryngology Associates determined that cybercriminals had successfully infiltrated Otolaryngology Associates’ inadequately secured computer network and, thereby, stole data from Otolaryngology Associates’ systems. The investigation further confirmed that the data obtained by cybercriminals includes the sensitive patient data of at least 316,802 individuals.

  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Contact information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
