Kannact Data Breach

Kannact, Inc. (“Kannact”) provides patient monitoring and other health care services. On March 13, 2023, Kannact detected suspicious activity on its network, indicating a data breach. Based on a forensic investigation, Kannact confirmed that unauthorized cybercriminals gained access to its computer system. Kannact further confirmed that the cybercriminals accessed systems and files containing the stored personal information of at least 103,547 individuals.

The personal information accessed by cybercriminals in the data breach includes:

  • Names
  • Addresses
  • Social Security numbers
  • Medical treatment information
  • Dates of birth
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Pharmaceutical records

As a result of the data breach, these individuals’ personal and highly confidential information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity fraud.
